They've been married for almost 13 years but it's very rare to see Robert DeNiro and his wife pictured out together.
But there was no way that Grace Hightower was going to miss one of her husband's biggest social calendar events of the year.
The couple were snapped arriving at the New York State Supreme Court last night for a party held by high society magazine Vanity Fair for the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.
DeNiro, 66, who was dressed in a grey wool suit, was hand in hand with Grace, a former flight attendant, who looked stunning in a strapless black draped dress and minimal jewellery and make-up.
They were joined at the party by model Christy Turlington, 41, and her actor husband Edward Burns, 42, and comedian Jerry Seinfeld, 55, and his wife Jessica, 39.
Also attending were legendary actorand DeNiro's old friend Harvey Keitel, 70, who arrived with his 49-year-old actress wife Daphna Kaster, and actor and comedian Dennis Leary, 52, and his wife Ann.
Other party-goers included Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, 60, American's domestic goddess Martha Stewart, 68, and fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg, 63.
De Niro, who lives in New York City, co-founded the festival with Hollywood producer Jane Rosenthal in 2002 in response to the September 11 attacks the previous year, which resulted in the loss of vitality in the TriBeCa neighbourhood.
Tribeca is a residential area in Lower Manhattan, and its name is an acronym which means Triangle Below Canal Street.
Yesterday morning De Niro kicked off this year's festival at the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
He said: 'It's great how much the Festival continues to grow. Over the next 12 days we invite everyone to come and enjoy everything that our festival has to offer -- from the free events to the panel discussions, and, of course, the films.'
The festival will run from today through to May 2 and will show 85 feature films and 47 short films from 38 different countries.
Among the famous faces making up the judging panel of the festival will be actresses Jessica Alba, Brooke Shields, Whoopi Goldberg and Selma Blair, Ugly Betty star America Ferrera, former Scrubs star Zach Braff, and Batman Forever star Aaron Eckhart.
They will spend their time in screening rooms choosing their favourite entries out of 12 narrative films and 12 documentaries who are competing for a £65,000 cash prize.
The festival will also play host to the world premiere of Shrek Forever After 3D, the fourth film in the animation feature film series, at the Ziegfeld Theater tonight.
